2025/26 Season

For the  Spring Concert (on Wednesday 11 March at 7.00pm in the Mark Elder Concert Hall) we will be singing music by Borodin, Bizet, Puccini and Verdi.

The first piece we are working on is the Polovtsian Dances, from Prince Igor, by Alexander BORODIN. This is a very well known piece, but perhaps less well known are the Russian words!

One of our Basses, Neil Richardson, has a brother who has been singing in the Bolshoi (until the invasion of Ukraine) and is fluent in Russian. He has kindly offered this recording of the words to help us to master the pronunciation! (Here's hoping!!!)
